07.September.1999 - Devel Kernel 2.3.17 was released today.. grab it from our kernel page, or our FTP Site
- Decided to change the 'live helpdesk' to a regular irc channel. You can find us at #Linuxberg on irc.starlink-irc.org. I've been going to this net for about 3 years now,.. it's easy to get on, and never too crowded. :)
05.September.1999 - Started a help chat on AIM/GAIM (AOL's chat thing). Go download Gaim, or tik to join the chat. It's called "Linuxberg Helpdesk".

30.August.1999 - Added Kyber ApS (Denmark), Serverbase (Austria), Ilink (France), Frontier-Internet (UK), Julla ISP, Nevod Ltd (Russia), HobbyNet, Web for Rent (Netherlands), Goldweb Internet (Austrailia), Internet Connect Services Inc, ExecPC, ICSOL, U.S. Digital Networks, CTSNET, and PCI Systems (USA) to the Linux Friendly ISP page.
26.August.1999 - Nifty, Current Stable Kernel 2.2.12 was released as well :) Grab it from our Kernel page, or our FTP Site.
25.August.1999 - Devel Kernel 2.3.15 was released. Grab it from our kernel page, or our Ftp site.
- Old Stable Kernel 2.0.38 was released. Hopefully the last of the 2.0 kernels. Grab it from our kernel page, or our Ftp site
18.August.1999 - Linuxberg has just announced the release of our CDROM set to be distributed from Linux Central. It's only $7.95, and you get 4 cds in a nicely designed mailer. Go get yours today for some great offline browsing!
15.August.1999 - Today is Poll day.. Ext2.org has a window manager poll going :)

14.August.1999 - Ext2.org has a new look/home! Go check it out at Ext2.org!
12.August.1999 - Hello again :) Proud to announce news.tucows.com/ext2/. It's the new home for another site I maintain for Linuxberg, Ext2... A Linux online magazine. Go take a look.. I have some articles to put up that i'll put up today.
- Updated the kernel page. For the record, the latest stable is 2.2.11, and the devel is 2.3.13. :) Alan has an ac patch for 2.2.11 that is at ac3 right now. Go to the kernel page to download all these, or check out the Linuxberg FTP site to grab the newest.
02.August.1999 - Just redid the backend page. We now have 16 different versions of whatsnew for your site. Just software, just themes, with or w/o color, etc.. Take a gander at it.

30.July.1999 - Loki's Myth2 downloadable demo is now available on our FTP site. Go grab it, and try it out!
29.July.1999 - Added Paradox Internet Communications Inc, Novia.net (USA), and Hard Fun Logic (Spain) to the Linux Friendly ISP list. Keep sending them in :)

26.July.1999 - Added UOV.NET, Quicknet, and Lorain Internet (USA) to the Linux Friendly ISP list. Send in the ones you know can help setup dialup for new Linux users!
25.July.1999 - Another great article by Chris Tyler for Ext2.org. This one entitled Linux and Y2K will give you some insite as to what you can expect. This is based on a talk he gave at Comdex Canada last week.
24.July.1999 - Posted a couple nice articles on Ext2.org. Check here for them.. one is entitled "Cross Platform X Made Easy", and the other is "Caldera 2.2; The New Newbie Choice".

16.July.1999 - Our new ftp server is UP! Go hammer it! 209.58.63.194 (ip until the dns propagates) We need to test it out, so go grab a bunch of new stuff!
- Trying out Coffee Cup (html editor) for Linux.. They've been a windows item for a while now, and this is the first 'shareware' html editor to move from windows to Linux.. go test it out! Grab it from Linuxberg.
- Linux-2000.org added berg headlines to their site.. go check them out!
14.July.1999 - Just posted a nice article that fits into all the ISP activity today at Howto. It's over at Ext2.org titled Getting Online with RedHat. Go take a look, it has a lot of good information.. even if you already have ppp setup.
- I have the new address setup now.. if you have Linux Friendly ISP submissions, send them to isps@linuxberg.com.
- Let me know if you sent in an isp, and it didn't get added. I'm thinking I may have missed some that I received in June. If you sent me ISPs for July, they're up there. :) I'm going to create isps@linuxberg.com for isp submissions since it seems to be a popular section.
- Added #linuxtr for the dalnet network on the IRC page.
- Added Fornet (Turkey), FreeServe (UK), Haltek System (Indonesia), Surfnet (Finland), Flash.net (Multi-state USA), IBM.net, Smartnet Internet Services, Valdi Internet, Shenango Velley Online, Actaeon West, Westco Internet services (USA) to the Linux Friendly ISP page.. i'm adding more throughout the day
- Added #linux for the xnet.org network on the IRC page.

- Added IDS to the Linux Friendly ISP page.. I still have a lot to add.. and keep sending them in!
- Mirrored a nice screen saver for "Windows" that shows off Linux desktops.. go here to grab it (if you still use windows..)
- Kernel patch 2.2.10-ac9 was released.. check out kernel page.
- Released two new articles for Ext2. A continuation onto the earlier released 'Misc Kernel Tips' article, and some tips on how to get a RedHat 6.0 install the way you want it.
05.July.1999 - We posted a new kernel patch for kernel 2.2.10 to upgrade from 2.2.9. One of our guys noticed a problem with the video4linux line, and fixed it. Grab it from our kernel page.
- IDS in Greenwich was nice enough to let me use a dialup while i'm in RI. If you live in RI and need to sign up for dialup.. give them a call!
- Going up to Rhode Island this week.. looking for a local isp to Greenwich who would like to trade a week of dialup for me coming in and talking to their tech support to field linux questions for their users, or suggest some good ways to improve their Linux support :)

03.July.1999 - Oops.. kernel patch 2.2.10-ac8 was released a little bit ago.. grab it from our kernel page.
- Kernel patch 2.2.10-ac7 came out.. grab it from our kernel page.
01.July.1999 - Kernel patch 2.2.10-ac6 was released.. grab it from our kernel page.
- Some new Korean, Greek, and Japanese howtos.. check the translations page and look for the new dates. :) Oh, and for some reason, the symlinks don't work, use the shortened real directories.. ie: ko, el, and ja.
- Development kernel 2.3.9 was released.. grab it from our kernel page.
- Our FTP server will be down for relocation starting tomorrow, and maybe some of the weekend. We'll post up the ip address when the machine is up, and we'll hope for quick dns updates.
